  • Shamwow dried my tears



    I purchased Shamwow awhile ago and now it is a favorite in the kitchen. My first experience with Shamwow was when I, being my clumsy self,spilled my glass of soda on my new carpet floor. I started to panic. I frantically searched for a towel when my savior, Shamwow, was on the counter. I grabbed it and wiped up the mess. To my surprise the mess was completely gone!   • Liked Shamwow mop NOT anymore



    On June 22 2011 I bought the shamwow mop from a local store. I loved it till today July 14 th. I followed every instruction it gave even went online to do more research. The reason why I got it in the first place is I have physical issues that wont allow me wring out a mop enough. I went to use it today and the bottom part of the mop wont hold onto the lower part when I went to wring it out it kept coming off.     This product works if you use it correctly... The Shamwow (orange towel)needs to be wet to work... Now you can buy Shamwow at the dollar store... It is totally worth it. I use them to mop up water spills, dry the dogs on a rainy day, dry the counters in the bathrooms, wipe the water from the shower walls just to name a few...     I returned an order as I only order 1 and received 2. I refused the shipment and was charged 66.70 for the order and only credited 34.90 back the remaining 31.80 was for processing according to customer service. It is outragous they can steal peoples money like that. $31.80 seems a lot for processing as I didn't even open the package. I can understand 15.90 for the 1 order I had ordered but to have to pay for something I didnt even order seems wrong. More...

    The experience was horrible and the charges are outragous. I originaly was ordering 1 set and received 2, I called after the order was placed and was told they couldnt pull it up in their system to call back on Monday which I did and the order had shipped. I refused the shipment and had it returned. They charged me $66.70 and only refunded $34.90 and charged me $31.80 in processing.     The worst mop I've ever used. Poor design of the wringing mechanism. Part of the plastic housing is broken, and I can't imagine why. Maybe it fell over when stood up to dry. A mop should be durable, and this one isn't! I'd really like my money back. I think the towels are crappy, too because you aren't supposed to put them in the dryer. Really, now.     I got the Shamwow's as a stocking stuffer from my mother (we always laughed at the commercials) but when I actually tried them out they were more disappointing than anything. They're basically just a sheet of felt. That's it. I poured out a little bit of water on the table to test them out hoping they'd work like on tv. NOPE!     Ok with the Shamwow when you spill anything they say that with just about one touch and about two pats all of the water or what ever goes away!     I found the Shamwow mop material to be an excellent material. Unfortunately the mop handle and mounting hardware are weak and wobbly. The nut that holds the mop head to the handle broke the second time I used the mop. The plastic is just not tough enough to do the job.     I admit it... as skeptical as I usually am, when I saw Shamwow at Costco I was weak and decided to give it a try.     I have recieved two sham wow yellow toweletts from my son, They did not work for him, and the definately don't work for me. I used them on my Dodge Ram P/U. First one and then another dry one. The results were deplorable. All they did was smear the windows and leave streaks on the paint, not to mention that the truck was still wet.     Bought the 2-per set at Thunder in the Valley in May 2009. The guys did the usual cookie-cutter demo. We tried using one to dry the car; per the directions. All it did was push the water around. My terry towel did better than the Sham(for sure!) wow. I then tried soaking up water from the bucket. One quart of water. It soaked up about a pint and left the rest in the bucket.     I purchased not one but two of these boxes @ CVS. There were 4 large orange ones & 4 small blue ones in each box. I put one box in our RV the other @ home. This product is great when used as directed & your not buying a cheap imitation however... DO NOT WASH OR DRY!When I did that it removed whatever absorbant there was in the towel. That clip shows that shamwow does work some random cloth isn't going to pick up all the water u spill on the ground dumb ass you barley even touched it and look how much water it picked up! either you have really deep carpet or just not trying ...     i am pretty surprised to be saying this... the sham wow i bought actually works. although i do have a friend that was stupid enough to order it from the tv. his did not work one bit. however, i was able to stop by wal-mart and bought my own sham wow as a "as seen on TV". and i am happy to say that my sham wow did pass my absorbent test, it even worked when wet. although when i tried to clean a counter top with a wet sham wow, it picked up only about 90% of the liquid. the other 10% stayed behind as a trail. Some of the people writing are kind of stupid. I love how people take it out of the box and put it on a spil and wonder why it just spreads the liquid around. It says right in the directions IT WORKS BEST WHEN IT'S WET! You aren't supposed to use it dry, otherwise it doesn't work so great. Read people!

Anyway, I once had a mini flood in my house and more than half of my downstairs had about an inch of water covering the floors. My husband and I freaked out. We whipped out the shamwows and a bucket to carry the water, and in an hour my floors were completely dry. And what do you know, the majority of what was being picked up was by already moistened shamwow...doy. Thanks shamwow, you've been a lifesaver!

It was raining hard when I went to the store. I purchased 'shamwow'. I was anxious to get home to try it on my very wet vehicle. I said to myself, Sham-Wow...it doesn't work. Didn't absorb the water at all. I had to go over it with a cloth I got from the dollar store. I am returning this wet sponge to the store. I would not recommend.

Rebecca was actually my grandmother's name. She would turn over in her grave to know how I've been treated. When I called, your phone help said she would credit my visa with $55.00, which is better than nothing, but you are still making money off me. I got the feeling that your complaint department is trained to do this, to keep people from having a fit or calling the Better Business Bureau. A huge box is too much trouble to send back, plus I would have to pay postage. My name is Joye Greenwalt. Don't ever try to mess with me again. You sent 5 sets when I ordered only one set (doubled) for $19.95 + shipping and handling. Did you think that "one set" sounded like "five sets"?? My bill was $149.50. I couldn't believe my eyes. Do not even think about sending me any more shamwows, ever. You wrongly sent me 5 sets and that should last awhile, even giving some away. I ordered only one set for $19.95 plus shipping and handling. Have you trained your people to send more than was ordered, and then lie about the reason that so many were sent? Is this a scam? It's a good product, when used as directed, but I certainly will never trust you again. Tell your cute little guy who advertises for you on TV that customers might be receiving a huge box of shamwows that they never ordered. When I complained, she said she would deduct $55 from my visa bill. Too much trouble to send back, so I told her O.K. You've still made money off me, right? They say there's a fool born every minute. Got visa bill for $149.50. I had ordered one set (to be doubled) for !19.95 + handling. They sent five sets. Why? Is this a scam, to get more money? I called. She offered to credit my account for $55.00. Too much trouble to return so I'll keep, but I'm tempted to call Better Business Bureau. Shame on you!Double shame.

I purchased the yellow cloths @ Walmart several months ago, & was given a bunch of blue around the same time. After many uses & washes (& dryer spins) my experience is that the blue seem more fragile (a thinner material)but less likely to leave lint on glass. Actually, I have created some interesting uses for this product. I have 3 teenage boys, an aging in-law, 2 lg dogs, various pet wildlife, & of course my husband. I can assure you this product has been completely tested! It has been well worth the savings in papertowels, & less expensive than what I can buy "real" shammy cloths. Could some improvements be made? Maybe, yes, but all in all, I feel I've gotten more than my $'s worth.

To all of you dumb asses who say they don't work, maybe if you used it correctly you wouldn't have a problem with them. Just like a real raw hide shammy you have to wet it first. Real raw hide shammies are hard as a rock until you wet them and then they are a soft as a babies behind. If you don't want to pay shipping get them a walgreens, walmart, Target, Kmart basically anywhere. I got 8 small and 8 large from costco for $23 and they work great. Stop being so stupid people.

I got the sham wows and I had gotten some cheaper one and they don't soak up as much as they said they do but then I had read the consumer report and said they are not worth it and they are not worth the money. I hate to use paper towels use cotton ones for what you would use paper towels for.

I use Shamwows in a pottery studio. As there is no grease , just clay dust,in the studio they last and last and do a great job.

I use the blue ones in the kitchen and no longer use sponges. I think they are great.

The Sham Wow mop should be called Shame WOW!!! The metal pole the mop head is attached to is so flimsy that it broke while I was mopping and cut my hand in three places! It took 2 hours to stop the bleeding and might have had to have stitches if I had seeked medical treatment. The towels are good though. Mop would have been a good deal too had it not been made so cheap. Shame shame shame WOW!!!!

A lot of people seem to hate this thing because of billing problems. Just buy it in a store. I bought one at Pet Smart for 20 bucks. Anyway, I have to say, I am actually amazed. The thing does work pretty well for large quantities of water. I tried rolling a wet shirt with so-so results. I think it would be awesome for pet messes.

This product is a worthless piece of crap. i tried to wipe my dogs ass with it but it wouldn't work. I tried putting it in my pool to absorb all of the water but it didn't. I hate SHAMWOW.

I just saw a live demonstration, and bought 8 for $20. You have to use them when they're already wet, and NEVER put them in the dryer. I think they have those absorbent crystals in them and if you try to use them dry, they'll scratch the paint. That's why there are so many complaints! I think if you use them the right way, they are awesome.

i used it on my 350z because i love shammys saw the commercial and order the first time i used it on my car after the paint had dried i realised that the shamwow had scratched the paint on my car horribly im on the phone with costumer servise to deal with it do not use it on the car

I picked up the shamwow at the swap meat and i love it.If you use it right it will work.It works way better then papertowels.Be careful of immitations though.If yours doesn't work you probably got a fake one.Mine is awsome..

I've been wanting to try them so bad, so see if they were any good. When I saw a box sitting at Walmart, I had to try. I wasn't about to go through the headache of CC ordering over the phone - been there, done that.

Honestly, if you're someone who realizes the commercials for all these products are obviously making the product appear MUCH better, then maybe you won't be disappointed. I found they work, if you use them as indicated, and if you aren't expecting miracles. I'm happy with my purchase (saved the receipt in case I wasn't, but it turns out it's not needed!).

So, yeah, I'm pleased with the product. It does it's job better than paper towels ever have, and I can save some money (and the environment) using the Shamwow towels.

YMMV. For me? I am saying "Wow", as they're cheap, they're durable and they do the job better than paper towels.

This product is a Sham, but bought it at Princess Auto in Winnipeg for a few bucks. No loss, it is crap. Take a old towel from home and squeeze it out at the car wash, works better. I never really lost for it might be good as a shop towel for your hands.

Yeah, if you are overcharged or received an error on your credit card statement, contact the company who didn't charge you correctly first, and then immediately contact your credit card company and let them know that the charge is erroneous and disputed. Duh...

Sham Wow is more like I've Been Shammed or Sham Shit. Horrible waste of money. Dishtowel sucked up more water in a home test!

I fell for the scam havn't got my order yet am wondering if I am goin to at all...anyone have a number to call to check order status? Well I can tell ya that this is truely a lesson I won't forget thanx for all who do leave their opinion.

My 17 yr. old son bought 8 of the shamwow towels as a present for me for 19.95 from an e-mail address Ronny@aquareoneent.com. I didn't have the heart to tell him they didn't work. Then after receiving his debit card statement they overcharged him $82.95. They sent additional product that he never ordered. "Ronny" gave us a address to send them back to in Wallingford, CT. We did and a M. Kidd signed for the returned product. Guess what......they never refunded my son a sent. I just sent Ronny an e-mail. Next, I guess my lawyer and/or mail fraud. Any suggestions?

Shamwow worked great! A friend brought 2 shamwows to our high school football game when it was raining. We must have wiped down half of the those awful aluminum seats before halftime for those who forgot a towel. Everyone loved the sham wow!
But be careful, my friend told me he sat on it for a couple of hours and became dehydrated!

I feel completely violated. My buddy actually has some super towel that is some sort of Rubber material. I tried his and I thought the Shamwow was similar, if not better based on those infomercials. When I got it, all it was was some sort of cheap felt that looks and feels like it maybe has some wool in it. I couldn't believe what a terrible job it did with soaking up water. I mainly bought it to get the dew off of my car in the mornings and to my surprise it just streaked it along my car making it look dirtier than before. On top of that, I bought 2 orders of this sh*t product to give to my family. I am just glad I tried it out before looking like a complete idiot to them. F Shamwow! F them in there shady German A$$es!
